Artalk in association with The Pharos Trust and the Department of Design / Intercollege present a series of art seminars with the title, Art on the Move: Situating New Nomadism, Migration and Mobility within Contemporary Art. These seminars aim to inform, stimulate, and generally raise the level of critical debate within our community. The speakers are internationally established and highly regarded practising artists, curators, critics, writers and educators of art.

These seminars are open to the general public and free of charge.

Claudia Wegener is an artist based in London working with writing and performance. As a member of the artist initiative foreign investment, she participated in events such as the Istanbul Biennale (1997), the Venice Biennale (2000), Rio Trajetorias (2001) and the London Biennale (2000, 2002, 2004). She completed a doctoral dissertation about the concept of 'the monumental' at Goldsmiths College, and lectures at Camberwell College of Arts and the Royal Academy Schools. Excerpts of her on-going wrting project 24 hrs have been published i/a/ in "Untitled (Experience of Place)" Koenig Books London 2004. She also contributes regularly to periodicals, such as Performance Research and Third Text.
