Born in Sao Paulo, Moises started playing guitar in a gospel band at the age of 15, but when the band’s official bass player left, he assumed the post of bass player. Since then he adopted the bass as his instrument. Autodidact, Moises was soon playing with Vandre Nascimento, one of the best guitarists in the contemporary Brazilian musical scene, performing workshops in Sao Paulo music school Sousa Lima. Influenced by Victor Wooten, Arthur Maia, Nico Assumpcao and Jaco Pastorius, he developed his own style and was invited at the age of 21 to tour in the United Kingdom with a gospel band. The initial stay of one month has meanwhile been extended to 3 years, during which he has performed in clubs and events in London.
Uira Nogueira / Drums
Uira Nogueira started playing drums when he was 9 years old in Salvador, Bahia. Uira holds a degree in Musical education from University of Bahia and has worked as a professional Drummer and percussionist with several well known Brazilian artists, such as Carlinhos Brown, Armandinho do Bandolim, Raimundo Sodre and Geronimo. He is currently continuing his studies in London at the Drum-Tech School.
“If you think Brazilian music is only about bossa nova and samba then think again. A universe of sounds that shifts from Samba to waltz, Maracatu to Funk, Bossa to Rock nroll, Liquidificador is an exciting band that involves the audience by making music in a creative and sensitive way. This is true innovative music.”
