in the international music world to be one of the foremost cellists. He
has performed as a soloist all over Europe, Asia as well as North and
South America. Highlights in recent years have included solo concerts at
the Berlin Philharmonie, the Carnegie Hall New York, the Wigmore Hall
London and the Leipzig Gewandhaus. |

His interest in the music language and instrumentation of the various stylistic periods has led to close collaboration with renowned orchestras in this field, in particular with the Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin, with whom Peter Bruns has performed for on recordings as well as concerts. In 1990, Peter Bruns founded the Dresden Piano Trio along with Kai Vogler (violin) and Roglit Ishay (piano). After recording the Brahms Sonatas (1997, Gramophone Magazine Choice of the Year), he recorded the Six Suites for Cello Solo by JS Bach, the Complete Works for Cello and Piano by Gabriel Faure and the Complete Works for Cello and Piano by Ernest Bloch. More recently he recorded for Harmonia Mundi a Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach concert in A minor together with the Akademie fur Alte Musik Berlin (2001, Cannes Classical Award - Best CD of the Year). In 2003 he released recordings of the complete Schumann works and the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata. Peter Bruns plays on a cello made by Carlo Tononi of Venice in 1730 that was once owned by the legendary Spanish cellist Pablo Casals. |

![]() | Roglit Ishay (piano) From the first bars of the Beethoven, pianist Roglit Ishay made a strong impression through her extremely clear touch, excellent technique and a round timbre that also kept its rich color in the forte. - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung The Israeli pianist Roglit Ishay has made a name for herself both as an outstanding soloist and chamber-music musician, distinguishing herself through the breadth of her repertoire, performing on instruments from the early Classical period to contemporary electronic keyboards. Her love for contemporary music has brought Roglit Ishay to collaborate with many composers. Roglit Ishay has performed with the Bayerischer Rundfunk in the "Musica Viva" concert series, as well as with the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, with the Ensemble fur Neue Musik Dessau and with the Ensemble Avantgarde Leipzig. Together with members of the Cherubini Quartet, the Beaux-Arts-Trio, the Alban Berg Quartet, the Guarneri Quartet and the Leipziger Quartet Roglit Ishay has performed at the Marlboro Music Festival, the Berlin Festspiele and the Dresdner Musikfestspiele. Included in her discography are various trio recordings, Dvorak's solo music, the complete works of Schumann and Schubert, Faure and Bloch for cello and piano (with cellist Peter Bruns ), the complete works of Reger for clarinet and piano, as well as several duo recordings with violinists. To be released in the coming months are the second CD of works of Joachim Raff for violin and piano as well as a trio recording of Dvorak, Janacek and Suk, with the Dresdner Klaviertrio (Hanssler). |
