Lecture SeriesThe Pharos Trust Lecture Series serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas by influential thinkers on issues ranging from arts to philosophical and political questions. Examples include:
During the spring of 2005, a series of art seminars in co-operation with Artalk Ltd entitled “Art on the Move: Situating New Nomadism, Migration and Mobility within Contemporary Art”. Participants included internationally established practicing artists, curators, critics, writers and educators.
In 2003, a lecture and workshop by Prof Richard Geldard entitled “Heraclitus: Ancient Mystic, Modern Guide”
In 2002, a lecture on human rights issues by Baroness Cox, Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Lords
In 2001, a lecture entitled “Co-operation and tension in the transatlantic relationship” by Prof Victor Bulmer-Thomas, Director of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA) in London, popularly known as Chatham House.
