In 1996, when he was
just 10 years old, violinist Hrachya Avanesyan won the First Prize at the
Armenian Republic Competition in both junior and senior categories. This marked
the beginning of an international career with soloist appearances throughout the
world.
Avanesyan moved to Belgium in 2003, where he studied at the Royal
Conservatory of Brussels in the class of Igor Oistrakh. He is winner of several
international competitions, including the European Competition for Young
Soloists in Luxembourg, the Henry Vieuxtemps Competition, the Yehudi Menuhin
Violin Competition, the International Carl Nielsen Competition in Denmark.
Avanesyan has appeared as a soloist with numerous notable orchestras throughout
the world and collaborated with important conductors such as Walter Weller, Paul
Goodwin, Joana Carniero and Joji Hattori.
