Trio IAMA, consisting of siblings Antonis Anissegos (piano), Jannis Anissegos
(flute) and Maria Anissegou (cello), is hailed as one of the most promising and
creative ensembles in Greece. Formed in 2004, the Trio is dedicated to the
promotion of new music and contemporary works especially written for the
specific instrumental combination, as well as the invention of new sounds and
trends in music.
Each of the three musicians is a renowned soloist, and all of them have also
participated in other ensembles. The siblings began their music career in
Thessaloniki and they have gradually become internationally acknowledged.
Antonis Anissegos studied piano and composition at the Ferenc Liszt Academy in
Budapest. He subsequently moved to Vienna and Cologne to study with K.
Schwertzig and K. Meyer and he completed his studies at the Berlin University of
the Arts under the legendary W. Zimmermann. He has won a number of prizes in
composition, such as the Alban Berg Prize in Vienna and the Neukollner Oper
Berlin. Antonis has collaborated with Manos Hatzidakis who had commissioned him
with the composition of new works. His music has been performed all over Europe
by ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Mosaik, Ensemble
Dissonart, State Orchestra of Thessaloniki and Orchestra of Colours. Jannis
Anissegos began his studies at the Aristotelion University of Thessaloniki (Fine
Arts). He subsequently studied music with Hans-Martin Mόller at the University
of Cologne and with Anna Noakes, Lynda Coffin and Alan Baker at Trinity College
of Music in London, where he graduated with distinction.
