Residency Programme

The Residency Programme hosts artists, musicians, scholars and composers who have an opportunity to create new works in Cyprus and give lectures, workshops and masterclasses. The Trust has the use of a large old townhouse, situated in the heart of old Nicosia, next to the church of Ayios Kassianos, for its artists-in-residence programme as well as a country residence in a rural area outside Nicosia, ideal for contemplating and creating.

The Trust regularly invites composers from abroad for residencies in Cyprus so they ca create new works and interact with local composers. Young British composer Emily Hall spent a month in Cyprus in 2005 during which she completed her opera Sante, based on the Rwandan genocide, which received its premiere in 2006 at the Aldborough Festival in the UK.

Other residencies in the past have included poet and writer Joachim Sartorius and many artists from Armenia.

If you are interested in a residency, please contact the Pharos Trust office on
