Programme includes work by Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Mozart, Rossini, Brahms, Verdi and Strauss

This year, the Pharos Chamber Music Festival will present the Vienna String Soloists with four performances, led by Rainer Honeck, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - arguably the world's best orchestra, and Cypriot pianist/ conductor Spiros Pisinos, recently appointed as cover conductor for the New York Philharmonic. Founded in 1974 by members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna String Soloists started appearing abroad in 1979, toured extensively all over Europe and have given to date more than one hundred concerts. The Vienna Solo Strings are famous for their interpretations of classical masterpieces and have worked alongside outstanding Musicians Rainer Honeck (1st violin), Bernhard Biberauer (1st violin), Marian Lesko (1st violin), Milan Setena (2nd violin), Arkadij Winokurow (2nd violin), Erich Kaufmann (viola), Friedrich Bauer (viola), Wolfgang Gurtler (contrabass), Micheal Hell (cello), Georg Frischenschlager (cello)
