Sergei Katchatryan was born in 1985 in Yerevan, Armeni, into a musical family. He is considered one of the best new generation violinists, has won numerous awards and obtained the first prize of the Sibelius International Violin Competition in Helsinki in December 2000, making him the youngest ever winner in the history of the competition.
