Alexander Ghindin
Alexander Ghindin was born in 1977 in Moscow. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatoire and at the age of 13 he became a laureate of the Moscow Young Pianists Competition. In 1994 he was a prize winner at the 10th International Tchaikowsky Piano Competition, being the youngest laureate. Since that time he has performed throughout Russia, as well as in the United States, Hungary, Poland, France and Switzerland. |
| Alexander Ghindin was one of the first scholarship holders of the "New Names" International Charity Foundation and has also represented the Foundation in many concerts in Israel, Hungary, Great Britain, Belgium and France. Among others, he has performed for his Holiness Pope John Paul II, for HRH Prince Michael of Kent and for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Barbican Centre. Since 1997 he is a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed with the Moscow Virtuosi under the direction of Vladimir Spivakov, the London Philharmonic conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy, the Camerata of St. Petersburg, and the Orchestre Nationale de Belgique. Alexander Ghindin has also appeared as soloist with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Philharmonie de Liege and the Swedish Royal Festival Orchestra. Among the conductors with whom he has worked with are Vladimir Fedosseyev, Mats Liljefors, Leonard Slatkin, Artur Fagen, and Yuri Simonov. He has recorded 10 CDs on DML Classics (Japan) and Decca Records. In 1999 he was awarded the second prize at the International Queen Elizabeth Competition. | |
