Lusine was born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1983. In 1989, Lusine began her music studies on piano at the Sayat Nova Music Academy for Youth in Yerevan. In 1991 she performed in the "New Names Festival" of the Republic of Armenia. In 1992 she received 2nd prize in a competition festival of "Armenia's Children" for the Republic of Armenia. After arriving in Frankfurt, Germany in 1993 with her family, she began music studies at the Taunus Music School of Eschborn while attending the Käthe-Kolwitz School. |
| In 1994 she received
1st prize in the regional and state competition of "Jugent Musiziert"
followed by a solo concert in the Hindemith Hall of the Alte Oper in
Frankfurt. The year 1994 also brought her 1st prize and special price in
the 10th Chamber Orchestra Competition for southern Germany in Bad
Dürkheim. In 1995 she won 3rd place in the International Chopin
Competition of Göttingen, and in 1996 she won 1st prize at the national
level of the "Jugend Musiziert" Competition of Germany. Among other concerts, she has performed with the Wiesbaden Chamber Orchestra for the annual Christmas Concerts of 1995, 1996, 1997 and she will again perform in 1998 with her father playing the double Mozart Concerto for piano and orchestra. In July 1998 Lusine performed the Chopin Concerto No. 1 with the Quito Symphony Orchestra in Ecaudor. In 1999 she will perform with the Cannes Symphony Orchestra in France. In celebration of 150 years of German Independence Lusine, along with her brother, will present a major recital at Frankfurt's premier concert hall, the Alte Oper in September 1998. Currently Lusine studies with Fr. S. Speidel of the Karlsruhe Music Academy. Her previous musical instruction has been with her father, Vladimir Khachatryan. Lusine has an engaging personality, open and generous, and enjoys playing card games with her brother and their friends. While the piano is her great passion, Lusine also enjoys writing poetry, drawing, and painting. However, for Lusine there has never been any doubt in her mind about her commitment to a musical career. | |
